On June 26, 2018, the handover ceremony of the Japan’s grant aid for provision of environmental equipment for Georgia was held at the LEPL National Environmental Agency’s Central Office. The Ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Tadaharu Uehara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA) - Ms. Nino Tandilashvili and others.
The grant agreements were signed between the governments of Japan and Georgia in 2014. Total amount of grant Aid equals three hundred million (300,000,000) Japanese Yen.
This is the second package, consisting of Stations for Automatic weather Monitoring for Seaport in Poti and Batumi and Water Level Measuring Stations for River on four rivers in Western Georgia. The first package was Air Quality Monitoring System, provided in 2016.
