Prime Minister’s Special Envoy - Mr. Aisawa participated in memorial service of ex-President of Georgia – Mr. Shevardnadze

- 1. On July 13th, the member of the House  of Representatives of Japanese Diet – Mr. Ichiro Aisawa (President of  Japan-Georgia’s parliamentary friendship league), as a Prime minister’s Special  Envoy, attended the memorial services of ex-President of Georgia- Mr.  Shevardnadze.

-  2. The memorial service was attended by highly  ranked guests from various countries that share cherishing memories with  ex-president Shevardnadze.  Prime Minister’s  Special Envoy – Mr. Aisawa held discussions with the head of memorial service committee  – Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili as well as with the Minister of Foreign Affairs-  Mrs. Maia Panjikidze and ex-Secretary of State of the US – Mr. James Baker.

- 3. Besides that, during the official meeting with President  Margvelashvili at the Presidential Palace, on behalf of the Prime Minister Mr.  Shinzo Abe, Mr. Aisawa expressed condolences. The sides remarked on  achievements of ex-President Shevardnadze and exchanged opinions about  development of mutual relations. President of Georgia thanked cordially the  Prime Minister Abe and the people of Japan for sending a special envoy and  expressed strong hope for further development of Japan-Georgian relations.

- 4. At the round table, together with the members of  Georgia-Japan friendship group of the Parliament of Georgia, opinions in various  directions were also exchanged.
