Opening Ceremony of the “Project for Provision of Agricultural Laboratory Equipment in Zugdidi Municipality”

On May 13, 2021, the Opening Ceremony of the “Project for Provision of Agricultural Laboratory Equipment in Zugdidi Municipality” was held in Zugdidi, which has been implemented within the framework of Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme of the Government of Japan. The Ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Imamura Akira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia; Mr. Malkhaz Toria - Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region; Mayor of Zugdidi, Mr. Giorgi Shengelia and a Chairperson of the Municipal Council, Mr. Mamuka Tsotseria; Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Mr. Ruslan Abashidze; Head of the Department of Relations with the Regions of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Mr. Lasha Shalamberidze and representatives of Association for Agricultural Development (AFAD).
Within the project, laboratory equipment was purchased for the agricultural centre in Zugdidi, which will ensure laboratory examinations and provide quality certificates, for enabling more competitiveness of local farmers and for promotion of food safety in Georgia. Grant Amount is 69’500 USD.
