Handover Ceremony for Providing Medical Equipment for Strengthening the Healthcare System of Georgia

On September 15, 2021, the handover ceremony of the Project for Providing Medical Equipment for Strengthening the Healthcare System of Georgia was held in the Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center. The handover ceremony was attended by H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Mr. IMAMURA Akira, Minister of Healthcare of Georgia – Ms. Ekaterine Tikaradze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs – Aleksandre Ghvtisiashvili, Director of the Center – Aleksandre Kalandia, representatives of “Crown Agent Japan” as well as the staff members of the medical sector of Georgia.
 
Within the project worth 2.8 million USD, Government of Japan provided Georgia with 110 defibrillators and 155 electro-cardiographs, which will help monitor key parameters of severe patients’ condition and help save lives and contribute to countermeasures against infectious diseases and to strengthen the healthcare system – in the middle of pandemic and beyond.
