Opening Ceremony of The Project for Provision of Community Eco Bus in Keda Municipality

On July 25, the Keda Municipality received the Eco Bus, purchased within the Grassroots Human Security Grant Program (GGP) of the Embassy of Japan. The Handover Ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. Imamura Akira, Mayor of Keda Municipality Rolandi Beridze and his First Deputy Imeda Vasadze, Head of the City Council of Keda Municipality Amiran Tsintsadze; Also, Members of the Parliament of Georgia and the Supreme Council of the A/R of Ajara – Anzor Bolkvadze and Pridon Futkaradze.
By providing the energy-efficient bus which is fully adapted for people with disabilities, this project aims to improve the mobility of the local people to gain access to the goods, essential services and critical facilities. Moreover, by introducing an electric bus in rural Georgia, this project creates a good precedent for replication, to reduce air pollution and emissions of harmful greenhouse gases. Grant amount: 77,235 USD.
