During the meeting, both sides paid special attention to the exchange of high-level and highest-level visits, political, economic, cultural, sports and academic cooperation. They also touched upon grassroots relations, development corporation, and focused on the further activation of private sector cooperation.
The sides also discussed issues related to regional and global situation, and the Japanese side confirms its consistent position that peaceful resolution of the conflict in the region in line with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders is essential for the peace and stability of the country and the entire South Caucasus region. Japan opposes any attempts to change Georgia’s internationally recognized borders.
