Announcement of Japan’s Friendship Ties Program “MIRAI”

The Government of Japan launched the MIRAI Program in 2015. It is a short-term youth exchange scheme set up to invite graduate and undergraduate students, and young professionals to Japan.
The title of the program, “MIRAI,” means “future” in Japanese and is also an acronym based on the first letters of the following keywords, as indicated:
Mutual understanding, Intellectual Relations and Academic exchange Initiative.

【Available Program】
Participants from Georgia are eligible to apply for the program “Rule of Law: January” (Program term in Japan: 14th- 20th January 2026).
*Eligible participants: graduate and undergraduate students, and young professionals aged between 20 and 30 years old.
【Application Deadline】
15th October 2025 (Japan Standard Time).
【Application Procedure】
1: Please read the guideline carefully before applying.
2: Fill out the entry form on the website and upload all the required documents listed below (1-5) through Kintone (link) by the deadline.
(1) Valid Passport Copy
The applicant must upload a copy of the photo page of their passport (color or black and white).
(2) Letter of Understanding
The applicant must read carefully the conditions described in the “Letter of Understanding” before applying for the program.
The applicant must sign it and upload the documents of all pages. (not the signed page only)
(3) Handling of Personal Information and the General Date Protection Regulation (GDPR) Privacy Policy
The applicant must read “Handling of Personal Information and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Privacy Policy” before applying for the program. The applicant must sign it and upload the documents.
(4) Academic Transcript or Certificate of Enrollment
The applicant must upload both an academic transcript and a certificate of enrollment from their university or graduate school. If you are a first-year university student and are unable to provide a university transcript, please submit your most recent high school transcript instead. Young professionals are required to submit a certificate of employment from their affiliated organization.
(5) A Face Photo
The applicant must upload a photo taken within three months. (color or black and white)

- Strengthen public relations through proactive dissemination of Japan’s diplomatic policy and attractive points by participants,
- Strengthen relations between Japan and the participants’ regions, and build a basis for future friendship and cooperation
