The Embassy of Japan in Georgia announces a vacancy for the position of Secretary, with duties outlined below. The Embassy is looking for a candidate who will be available to begin work in early February 2026.
 
A. Job responsibilities:
  • Preparing and conducting Embassy’s events and activities
  • Communication with Georgian partners, the diplomatic corps, international organizations and other relevant entities by phone, e-mail and in person
  • Translation and interpretation between Georgian and English
  • Managing schedules for the diplomats, including arrangements of the appointments, and undertaking receptionist duties
  • Handling consular-related communications (by phone, e-mail and in person)
  • Drafting of letters and other documents 
B. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Georgian and English (C1 level or higher. Official score of IELTS 7.0 or above/ TOEFL iBT 100 or above). It is not mandatory but preferable to have Japanese language knowledge. Solid command of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of both Georgian society and Japanese culture
  • Cooperative personality and positive attitude
  • Team-oriented personality
C. Conditions:
  • Full-time employee position to begin early February 2026 (There will be a trial period in the first six months).
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:45 (Lunch break from 14:00 to 15:00)
  • Some overtime and business trip may be required occasionally.
  • Salary: Complied with the provisions of the Embassy 
D. Applications:

    2. Copies of all relevant educational certificates and academic transcript

(Alternatively, you can send all documents via email to admin@tb.mofa.go.jp, however, please note that the total size of attachments shall not exceed 5MB per email.)
 
3.Applicants who are selected through a preliminary screening will be contacted for a written exam and an interview. During the interview, we will explain the details of the employment conditions.
