Ambassador Ishizuka Delivered Opening Remarks and Lectures at the Opening of an Ikebana Demonstration and Masterclass at the National Botanical Garden of Georgia

On 20 September, H.E. Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki delivered opening remarks and lectures at the opening of an Ikebana Demonstration and Masterclass held at the National Botanical Garden of Georgia.
The event was organized by the National Botanical Garden of Georgia, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall.
The programme featured Ms. Taniguchi Chieko, a Sogetsu Ikebana master (“Teacher’s Diploma 1st Grade Riji) from Japan, who visited Georgia for the first time to introduce the art of Ikebana and conduct a demonstration and masterclass at the Botanical Garden.
In his remarks and lectures, Ambassador Ishizuka, by introducing the history and cultural significance of Ikebana, highlighted the role of cultural exchange in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Georgia, noting the special significance of the Botanical Garden’s Japanese Garden as a symbol of the two countries’ cultural ties.
