Signing Ceremony under the “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” GGP Program The Project for Establishment of Bio-briquettes workshop facility for Two Villages in Tsalka, Kvemo Kartli Region

On February 28, 2019, the Grant Contract was signed by HE Ambassador Tadaharu Uehara and Mr. Giorgi Datusani, Chair of the Board of BRIDGE-Innovation and Development. Under the grant, BRIDGE will construct bio-briquette workshops, equip machines and provide training to produce briquette which substitute of firewood in two villages. This project will create a good precedent for replication, to potentially avoid deforestation in Georgia. Bio-briquette will cost about twice less than firewood, which is very important for poverty alleviation among ecological migrants, residing in Tsalka. The project funding amount is 71 498 USD.
