JOB OPENING - External Grant Consultant for the Program "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) -

The Embassy of Japan in Georgia is announcing a vacancy for the position of External Grant Consultant for the Program "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)"
Background
The GGP is one of the grant schemes of the Embassy of Japan in Georgia, oriented towards providing support to the grassroots actors, for the promotion of Basic Human Needs and Human Security in Georgia. This involves, but is not limited to the actions, which aim to mitigate threats to human survival, human life, human dignity, as well as the actions aimed to build up the capacities of individuals and communities.
Since the independence of Georgia, within the GGP Grassroots Human Security Program, Japanese Government has funded more than 200 projects, totaling over 20 million USD (in addition to other grant schemes). The GGP program aims to support human security in Georgia in the following priority fields: environment protection, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare and education.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing the full grant cycle, incl. examination of the grant applications, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of projects;
- Communication/consultation with applicant/recipient organizations;
- Checking recipients’ scope of work and budgets for consistency with overall programme goals and objectives, alignment with set requirements;
- Facilitating regular communication and maintaining cooperative partnerships between the Embassy and our partners and stakeholders;
- Answering inquiries about GGP program;
- Arranging site visits (including travel to respective regions of Georgia);
- Organizing project related ceremonies and events;
- Providing on-demand briefings on the Grant Program;
- Performing other relevant duties, as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or above (degree in International Development, Law, other Social Sciences or related disciplines will be an asset);
- Proven work experience in aid management;
- Spoken and written proficiency in Georgian and English is required;
- An ability to work to tight deadlines;
- Solid understanding of Georgian society;
- Solid command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);
- A high level of integrity and ability to work as part of a professional team.

The contract for the position can be extended up to 3 years;
Full-time employee position to begin from September 2023;
Contract fee: Complied with the provisions of the Embassy;
