Opening Ceremony of the Project for Provision of Mobility Mammography Service in Shida Kartli and 3 IDP Settlements

On October 13, 2023, the opening ceremony was held in the village Nikozi for the Project for Provision of Mobility Mammography Service in Shida Kartli and 3 IDP Settlements. The Ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. ISHIZUKA Hideki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Director of the Nikozi Primary Health Center – Mr. Nikoloz Dzamukashvili, representatives of local, regional and central government and international organizations.
Within the project a mobile mammography service has been established to provide free cancer screening in the villages of Shida Kartli Region, for the purpose of early detection and prevention of disease. This project will support human security field and provision of healthcare services to IDPs and conflict-effected women and girls and will accelerate the implementation of the UN resolution on WPS in Georgia. The grant amount for this project amounts to 91 200 USD.
