Tea Ceremony and Kyogen presentation and demonstration organized by the Embassy of Japan


On June 3, the Embassy of Japan in Georgia hosted a “Tea Ceremony and Kyogen presentation and demonstration” event at Tbilisi State University.
The event was led by two Japanese performers who currently reside in Sweden – stage actress Ms. Yuu KOMAKI and tea ceremony master Ms. Toshiko OHNER, who promotes tea ceremony under the name “SOHO”.
In addition to the Rector of Tbilisi State University, Prof. Jaba Samushia, the event was also attended by 95 people, including cultural and business figures, as well as students and professors from Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, and the Free University of Tbilisi.
During the tea ceremony and Kyogen demonstrations, students were able to experience first-hand traditional Japanese culture.
