Introduction to the Tea Ceremony at the National Botanical Garden of Georgia

On June 4, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia H.E. Mr. ISHIZUKA Hideki with his spouse, hosted "Introduction to the Tea Ceremony" cultural event at the Japanese Garden, located in the National Botanical Garden of Georgia. The event was led by two Japanese performers who currently reside in Sweden – Ms. Toshiko OHNER (Tea Master name “SOHO”), and Ms. Yuu KOMAKI.
In his opening speech, the Ambassador spoke on the significance of cultural exchange between Japan and Georgia through the tea ceremony, and Director of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia, Ms. Irine Danelia, gave an address as co-organizer. The event was attended by business figures and representatives from diplomatic corps, who were able to experience Japanese tea first-hand. Local TV was also invited to show the Japanese tea ceremony culture to the whole nation.
Additionally, students learning Japanese language from Georgian School also attended the event, and a representative of the school was able to experience Tea Ceremony first-hand.
