Tea Ceremony & Kyogen Demonstration Held at the Japanese Garden to Commemorate its’ Reopening

On April 4, 2025, a Tea Ceremony & Kyogen Demonstration was held at the Japanese Garden of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia to commemorate the garden’s restoration. The event took place in the scope of Japan Weeks 2025 in Georgia and was co-organized by the Embassy of Japan in Georgia and the National Botanical Garden of Georgia.  –A Tea Master Ms. Toshiko OHNER (Tea Master name “SOHO”) conducted Japanese tea ceremony and a Kyogen actress, Ms. Yuu KOMAKI presented Kyogen demonstration (both residing in Stockholm). 

 

 At the beginning, the Director of the Garden, Ms. Irine Danelia, expressed her gratitude to the Japanese side for various support in garden’s restoration. In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. ISHIZUKA Hideki, thanked all those who have dedicated themselves to the renovation of the garden and expressed his hope that its fame will get well-known. 

The event was attended by business figures and representatives of the diplomatic corps, who had the opportunity to experience Japanese Tea and Kyogen performance firsthand.
