Ambassador Ishizuka delivered a speech at the opening of Georgian International Festival of Arts in Tbilisi featuring Japanese dance group "Sankai Juku"

On 25 October 2025, the Georgian International Festival of Arts (GIFT) 2025 opened with a performance of “Meguri” by the Japanese Butoh dance troupe “Sankai Juku” with the support of the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

In his opening remark, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Ishizuka Hideki, expressed gratitude to the organisers and supporters of the festival and highlighted the significance of Sankai Juku’s participation in GIFT as an outstanding example of cultural exchange between Japan and Georgia. 

Sankai Juku has also performed within the framework of GIFT festival in 2017.
