Ambassador Ishizuka Attends Opening Ceremony of One Village One Product Shop

2025/12/2
On November 30, Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki attended the opening ceremony of the One Village One Product (OVOP) shop in Tbilisi and delivered congratulatory remarks. The One Village One Product (OVOP) movement originated in Oita Prefecture, Japan, during the 1960s and 1970s. This initiative supports regional revitalization and economic self-reliance by branding distinctive local products and promoting them domestically and internationally. JICA began implementing support utilizing the “One Village, One Product (OVOP)” concept in Georgia this year. This shop will display high-quality and appealing products from across Georgia. This cooperation is expected to contribute to deepening mutual understanding and further strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Georgia.

OVOP Shop: 15 Akaki Shanidze St (Opening Hours: AM11:00-PM8:00)
