On 2 December, Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki attended the official opening of the photo exhibition “Exploring the Caucasus and the Caucasian World, 1995–2015” by Japanese Kartvelologist and Tokyo Metropolitan University Professor Hirotake Maeda.
The exhibition was opened in the foyer of the Batumi Drama Theatre supported by the Embassy of Japan in Georgia as part of the Batumi Black Sea Music and Art Festival 2025, organised by LYRA Foundation.
The exhibition presents a visual chronicle of Professor Maeda’s thirty-year exploration of Georgian history, culture, and identity. His photographs reflect journeys through Georgia and Caucasus capturing landscapes, communities, and the living heritage of the Georgian and Caucasian world.
The exhibition will be open until 6 December 2025.
