Japanese Ink Painting Exhibition by Ichiro Kikuta opened at the Sighnaghi Historical and Ethnographic Museum of the Georgian National Museum

On 17 February, Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki delivered opening remark at the official opening of the exhibition “Ichiro Kikuta: The Spirit of Sumi-e” organised by the Sighnaghi Historical and Ethnographic Museum of the Georgian National Museum and Wine Collection of Georgia, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Georgia and supported by the Sighnaghi Municipality. The exhibition showcases 17 Japanese ink and wash paintings by an Okinawan artist Mr. Ichiro Kikuta.

The exhibition marks the third presentation of Mr. Ichiro Kikuta in Georgia, following the exhibition at Ajara Art Museum under the framework of Batumi Black Sea Music and Art Festival 2025 and a presentation at 9th International Handmade Printing Festival at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Tbilisi.

The exhibition of Japanese Ink Painting will remain open until 20 May 2026.
