Vacancy Announcement – External Grant Consultant
The Embassy of Japan in Georgia announces a vacancy for the position of External Grant Consultant to support two grant programs: (1) Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) and (2) Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP). The Embassy is looking for a candidate who will be available to begin work on September 1, 2026.
Background

The GGP is oriented towards providing support to grassroots actors for the promotion of Basic Human Needs and Human Security in Georgia. This includes, but is not limited to, actions which aim to mitigate threats to human survival, human life, and human dignity, as well as actions aimed at building the capacities of individuals and communities.

The GCGP promotes culture, sports, and higher education, and also provides support for the improvement of facilities and the purchase of equipment to be used in the conservation of cultural heritage, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and friendly relations between Japan and the recipient country.

A. Job responsibilities:
-
Managing the full grant cycle, including examination of grant applications, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of projects;

Communication and consultation with applicant/recipient organizations;

Checking recipients' scope of work and budgets for consistency with overall goals and objectives, and alignment with set requirements;

Facilitating regular communication and maintaining cooperative partnerships between the Embassy and our partners and stakeholders;

Answering inquiries about GGP/GCGP programs;
-
Arranging site visits (including travel to respective regions of Georgia);
-
Organizing project-related ceremonies and events;
-
Providing on-demand briefings on the Grant Programs;
-
Performing other relevant duties as required.

B. Requirements:
-
-
Bachelor's degree or above (a degree in International Development, Law, other Social Sciences, or related disciplines will be an asset);
-
Proven work experience in aid management;
-
Spoken and written proficiency in Georgian and English is required;
-
An ability to work to tight deadlines;
-
Solid understanding of Georgian society;
-
Solid command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);
-
A high level of integrity and the ability to work as part of a professional team.

C. Conditions:

The contract for the position may be extended up to a maximum of 3 years;

Full-time employment to begin from September 1, 2026;

Contract fee: Compliant with the provisions of the Embassy.
