Visit of The House of Representatives Delegation to Georgia

From August 1 to 3, the House of Representatives delegation led by Mr.Onishi Hideo, a member of the House of Representatives (Chairman of the House of Representatives Cabinet Committee), and consisting of other members of the House of Representatives. Mr.Inoue Shinji, Mr.Aoyagi Yoichiro, Mr.Fujii  Hisayuki, and Mr.Asano Satoshi visited Georgia. The main highlights of the delegation's visit are as follows.

(1) On August 1, the delegation held a meeting with Mr. Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament (in the presence of Ambassador Ishizuka  Hideki and other personnels). During the meeting, the delegation parties discussed the international and regional situation surrounding Georgia, the development of friendly relations between Japan and Georgia, and exchanges  between the parliaments of both countries.


(2) On the same day, the delegation held a meeting with Mr. Teimuraz Janjalia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia(in the presence of Ambassador Ishizuka  Hideki and other personnels). During the meeting, the delegation parties discussed the current state of Japan-Georgia relations, the global and regional situation, and future cooperation between the two countries.

(3)On August 2, the delegation visited the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) of Tskhinvali region (South Ossetia), an occupied territory of Georgia, with the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) (accompanied by the Embassy staffs).
