2024 National Day Reception on the occasion of the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor

On February 22, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia H.E. Mr. ISHIZUKA Hideki with his spouse, hosted the national day reception in celebration of the Emperor's birthday at the Pullman Hotel in Tbilisi. After singing of the national anthems of Japan and Georgia by traditional Georgian music and polyphony choir, the Ambassador delivered his speech, followed by Mr. Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, who delivered an address on behalf of the guests. Other participants included the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, the Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, and other government officials, as well as cultural and business representatives, members of diplomatic corps, who all gave toasts. The event was a great success, with the exhibitions of business activities by Japanese companies operating in Georgia, as well as introduction and serving of Japanese sake and tea, promotion of Japanese culture, regional attractions and Grassroots Development Assistance projects and a sushi making demonstration by the Ambassador’s chef.
The reception also marked the 15th anniversary since the Embassy’s opening and served as a great occasion for friendly exchange between Japan and Georgia.
