Exchange of Opinions on Japan-Georgia Regional Exchanges and Regional Cooperation” at the Ambassador's Official Residence

The Embassy of Japan in Georgia held various events on July 18-20 under the theme of "International Exchange and Cooperation between Local Communities of Japan and Georgia."

On July 18, Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. ISHIZUKA Hideki hosted a meeting at his residence to exchange opinions on the theme of “regional cooperation” through Japanese local food culture. Mr. KAMEI Mitsugi (Administrative Service) from Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture, and other members of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) working in the region, Mr. HATANAKA Hiroyuki and his members of the “Towada Barayaki Seminar”, who are involved in town revitalization project through local specialty food in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, were also making presentations in the meeting.

Ambassador gave a speech on the significance of promoting regional cooperation between Japan and Georgia. Mr. George Svanidze, President of the Georgia-Japan Business Council; Mr. MORI Hiroyuki, JICA Residential Representative in Tbilisi; Mr. MATSUNO Koji, Toyota Caucasus President along with other guests exchanged their opinions on the possibility of future cooperation for Japan-Georgia regional revitalization.
