Origami and Furoshiki Demonstration and Lecture at Nikozi Art School (Japan Weeks 2025 in Georgia)

On April 9, the Embassy of Japan in Georgia held "Origami and Furoshiki Demonstration and Lecture" at the Nikozi Art School, in Nikozi village, located in the Gori municipality, near the occupation line in Georgia.
In his speech, Ambassador of Japan H.E. Mr.Ishizuka Hideki reiterated the significance of cultural exchange through Origami and Furoshiki, which are integral parts of Japanese culture. His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Nikozi and Tskhinvali, of Nikozi Cathedral, expressed his gratitude.
The demonstration and lecture were led by two specially invited Japanese performers currently residing in Stockholm – a stage actress Ms. Komaki Yuu and a tea Ms. Ohner Toshiko. Children attending the Art School, which was rebuilt through the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Project "Construction of Social Educational centre in Nikozi village of Gori District", learned about traditional Japanese culture, followed by the hands-on experience of Origami and Furoshiki.
